Cobb County opens bids for park turf, rec center renovations and meal services; sewer rehab solicitation postponed

Cobb County Procurement Services opened six solicitations on April 24, 2025, and postponed one, procurement staff said.
“We have six solicitations to be opened today, but first I have one postponement I need to go over,” said Cameron Evler, senior procurement specialist for Cobb County Procurement Services, at the county’s bid opening.
The postponed solicitation, S3052, an invitation to bid for fiscal-year 2025 interceptor sewer rehabilitation, was moved to May 8, 2025, Evler said.
The county then read responses for six solicitations scheduled for opening that day. An invitation to bid (ITB) for a synthetic-turf conversion at Fuller's Park Field 1 (ITB 2056886) drew multiple bids. The county recorded the following total lump-sum prices: Advanced Sports Group, $305,183.13; Capital Sports Construction, Inc., $279,000; Cornerstone Sports Group, $234,828; Sports Field Inc., $278,944; and Geo Services Southeast Inc., $324,281.
An ITB for exterior and interior renovations at Boots Wards Recreation Center (ITB 2056887) received bids with the following total prices: Big Sky Construction Services, Inc., $359,011; Nix Fowler Constructors, Inc., $511,197; Prime Contractors, Inc., $645,885; and WE Contracting Company, Inc., $526,268.54. Bid bonds were noted as included with those submissions.
The county also opened three request-for-proposal (RFP) solicitations and read vendor names only, as is standard for qualitative evaluations. For the in-home services program (personal care, homemaker and respite care) (RFP 2056889) the respondents listed were Bartons Management and Consulting; CHMK and Associates, Inc.; and Firmcare Lifesharing.
For home-delivered meal services (RFP 2056890) the respondents were Cafe Social House; GA Food Services of Pinellas County, LLC; Meals on Wheels Atlanta, Inc.; and Open Hand Atlanta, Inc. For senior-center meal services (RFP 2056891) the county recorded bids from Cafe Social House and Meals on Wheels Atlanta, Inc.
Finally, the county opened RFP 25-6897 for design-and-build services for the renovation of the fire headquarters; respondents listed were Catamount Constructors, Inc.; Hogan Construction Group, LLC; John W. Spratlin and Son, LLC; and MAP.
Evler closed the session by reminding viewers that preliminary bid results and awarded contracts (once approved) are available through Cobb County’s OpenGov portal and Procurement Services website. The next regularly scheduled bid opening was announced for May 8, 2025.
No awards or contract approvals were made at the opening; the county recorded submissions and a postponement for later action.
