Webster teachers highlight union activities; district celebrates Master Teacher participation

Joan (WTA) and other WTA presenters listed activities including theater productions, music master classes, school clean-ups for Earth Week, student clubs and therapy-dog initiatives. WTA remarks included parents' and students' thank-you notes to teachers and descriptions of the association's involvement in after-school events.
Lori Larocco outlined the New York State Master Teacher Program and its local impact: she said 18 educators from Webster have been selected to the program since it began in 2013, including 8 math teachers, 5 science teachers, 3 technology teachers and 2 elementary teachers. Larocco described the program as a four-year professional-development commitment that emphasizes cross-district collaboration and leadership in STEM instruction.
Ending Board members thanked WTA presenters and Master Teacher participants for their work and recognized the program as an example of district-wide professional collaboration.
