The Hinsdale Village Board on April 22 received a first reading of the proposed 2025 pay plans for non‑union full‑time employees, part‑time employees and public‑service employees.
Staff said the 2025 pay plan includes a 3.5% increase across the board; the change aligns with the village's 2025 budget assumptions. For public‑works employees, staff proposed compressing the pay-step structure from 15 steps to 10 steps while keeping the same minimum and maximum pay; staff said the change is intended to allow employees to progress more quickly through steps and improve recruitment and retention.
For part‑time employees, the staff presentation noted an increase in starting pay for certain grades to $17 per hour, intended to remain competitive with market standards. In specific pay grades (NM 5, 7 and 8), staff proposed eliminating the top step to reflect market pay and simplify ranges.
This was a first read; staff said the new collective-bargaining agreements for unionized police officers and firefighter‑paramedics had already been approved at a prior meeting. Trustees indicated they would place the pay plan on a consent agenda or proceed to second reading as appropriate.
