Norfolk hosts 16th annual Little Feet Meet for elementary students with disabilities

Norfolk Public Schools hosted the 16th annual Little Feet Meet at Old Dominion University’s football stadium, drawing approximately 700 elementary students with exceptional needs and their families for inclusive physical activities, district officials said.
The event, produced in partnership with Special Olympics of Virginia, aimed to promote physical activity and inclusive participation. An event organizer said, "The objective of today's event is to promote activity and sports and choosing to include allowing all kids to participate equally and show their abilities. It's one of their favorite events. They look forward to it, parents too." Volunteers from ODU and the Norfolk Sheriff’s Department assisted and cheered students during the activities.
Organizers said the meet provides memory-making experiences for students and families while encouraging ongoing participation in sports and community events.
