Council directs staff to draft reservation policy and short-term alternatives for Noble Group Event Center users

CIBOLO, Texas — The city is preparing a policy to manage community groups that historically used the Noble Group Event Center, Mayor Mark Allen said on April 22, and staff will seek ways to temporarily host those groups while the facility is renovated.
Staff told council the city is reviewing expired leases and past usage at the Noble Group Event Center and will propose a reservation and fee schedule that could apply to the annex community room and other meeting spaces while the Noble Center is closed for improvements. City Manager Wayne Reid said staff would reach out to the groups named on the agenda and return to council with a draft policy and a fee schedule for council consideration in May.
Council members asked staff to consider the needs of long-standing users such as community groups and nonprofit fraternal organizations and to propose a fee structure that balances community access with the facility’s operating costs. Staff also suggested the City Hall annex meeting room as an interim site, but council members noted the annex policy allows limited recurring use and that staff may need to revise reservation rules to accommodate multi-day or recurring group needs.
No fee schedule or lease was adopted at the meeting; staff will return with options.
