City staff reported that the owner of Quail Ridge Golf Course has received code notices and begun remedial work, but the site will not be maintained to its prior golf-course turf standards.
"They've received those notices now. They recognize that they've moved some dumpsters into place to take care of some of the debris piles out there. They've started spraying it," a staff speaker said, describing contact with the owner and the owner's son. "Now it's not gonna be maintained as bent grass greens. You're not gonna have the smooth fairways, but it will be maintained to the standard of what grass should be for every residential property in City Of Bartlett."
Staff said some notices had been going to the lessee who ran the course rather than the actual owner, identified in the discussion as Mr. Wilder; the owner has since received the notices and acknowledged the maintenance schedule. City staff said they are in ongoing contact with the owner and that plans may be submitted to the city soon; officials did not describe the contents of any pending submittal. "I won't be no apartments out there because everybody asked if there's gonna be more apartments out there. So, we don't know if it's still gonna be a golf course, or if it's gonna be single family housing, or if it's gonna be, a 9 hole golf course," the staff speaker said, adding the city is awaiting formal plans.
The city provided a contact number for residents with complaints and asked citizens to report maintenance issues to department staff.
