Morgan County Schools board approves multiple procurement items, unanimously OKs personnel slate and tables Brewer High athletic bid

At a Morgan County Schools board meeting, members approved several vendor quotes and a memorandum of agreement, unanimously approved a slate of personnel items and tabled consideration of a low construction bid for Brewer High School athletic upgrades.

The board voted to approve an estimate (No. 1018) from Apex Softwash for line striping at Prosper High School and approved a quoted proposal from Identity Metrics (quote No. 4438) related to the MCS Rural Development Park. The board also approved a memorandum of agreement and associated quote (ID 415071.1) with Curriculum Associates. All three items were approved as presented and the board chair called the votes unanimous.

During consideration of construction bids under agenda item 11A, the board received a low bid from Limestone Building Group for athletic upgrades at Brewer High School. After the low bid was announced and a motion to accept was made, a board member asked that the item be tabled to the next meeting to allow more time to review a bid that had arrived only a few hours earlier; the chair agreed and removed the item from the current meeting agenda for later consideration.

On personnel matters, a staff member recommended approval of personnel items numbered 1 through 34; the board moved, seconded and approved the full slate unanimously.

Routine procedural actions on the consent agenda and other listed quotes were approved as presented during the meeting. The board then moved to adjourn.

The board did not specify meeting date or vote tallies beyond stating votes were unanimous; the Brewer High School athletic bid was tabled for a subsequent meeting so the district and bidders will await further action.
