South Colonie board approves personnel moves, principal appointment and retirements

The South Colonie Central School District Board of Education approved routine instructional and support personnel actions at its April 23 meeting, including the appointment of a building principal and acceptance of retirements.
Board members voted to approve the instructional personnel changes listed on the attached sheet dated April 23, 2025, by voice vote (motion recorded as 6-0). During the meeting, Mr. Ravalati highlighted the retirement of a long-serving staff member, Donna, who was recognized for her work with seniors and service at Sand Creek; the board extended its appreciation.
The board also approved a personnel motion appointing Mr. Barbarel (transcript spelling) as building principal at Peter Elementary; that appointment was part of the instructional personnel packet approved by the board.
Support personnel appointments and changes listed on pages 15–16 were approved by voice vote (6-0). The support packet included several appointments and a bus-driver hire noted by the presenter.
Board members applauded retiring employees and welcomed new hires before moving on to other agenda items. All personnel motions passed unanimously.
