Staff said they had contacted a regional contact (identified in the packet) about repurposing the grant and would need to file a scope change and an extension request with the grantor, likely within the month of May, to secure approval and allow time to complete the new work under the grant timeline.
Commissioners discussed whether preliminary engineering or sampling work could proceed if a building is owned by a regional development corporation and said staff would seek permission from the property owner before proceeding. Staff said they would get cost estimates from engineers and pursue the extension if needed.
