HHRC plans outreach at Juneteenth, bridal event and Hanover Park resource fair; members to staff tables and make materials

The Jefferson County Health and Human Relations Commission confirmed outreach tables for upcoming community events and discussed logistics for staffing and materials at its April 24 meeting.
Commission members said the HHRC has confirmed presence at Juneteenth and a bridal event in June and is planning vendor-table participation at the Juneteenth picnic on June 22 (vendors 3–6 p.m.). The group also discussed the Hanover Park disability resource fair scheduled for April 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and other local events where the commission could have a presence.
Members volunteered to staff tables: Amanda, Jane and possibly Kenny were listed for the June 14 event; DJ, Kenny and James were listed as possible staff for the June 22 picnic. Members proposed giveaways (stickers, fruit donations, small engagement activities, and an art project) and agreed to prepare flyers with QR codes linking to the commission’s online form. One member offered to design a sticker and circulate a draft for spelling and content checks.
The commission said it will coordinate volunteers, check with prior participants (including Lindsay from the Health Department) about availability, and prepare a list of supplies and sign-up sheets for vendors and volunteers.
