The Wooster City Council voted unanimously Monday to allow the director of administration to join the Ohio Department of Transportation cooperative purchasing program so the city can replenish its road-salt supply.
Council President asked Miss Hamilton to read Resolution 2025-33, and Mister Huzay, presenting for the PBM division, told the council the city ran through a significant portion of its salt this winter and needs to participate in the ODOT program to restock. Council members voted to suspend the rules and immediately adopt the resolution because, Huzay said, ODOT had set a May 2 deadline for a response.
The council approved the suspension of rules on a roll-call vote (yes: Jose; Knoepick; Gaffney; Malta; Myers; Abernathy) and then adopted the resolution on the same tally. The administration indicated the measure is intended to secure salt under ODOT’s cooperative purchase terms; no vendor or contract price was discussed at the meeting.
The resolution allows the director of administration to enter the cooperative purchasing agreement and was enacted immediately.
