Glynn County opens bids for IFB 25-041 roadway and pavement assessment; five firms submit offers

Glynn County opened sealed bids Tuesday for IFB 25-041, the county’s roadway and pavement assessment project, receiving five proposals with prices ranging from $58,400 to $300,000, Procurement Analyst Maria Thompson said.
The bids announced at the public opening were: MDS Technologies Incorporated of Park Ridge, Illinois — $58,400; Roberts Veil Engineering of Saint Simons Island, Georgia — $72,400; Spencer Consulting Group LLC of Carnesville, Georgia — $61,800; Tiger Eye Engineering of Columbia, Minnesota — $130,529; and Timmons Group of Mid Lithonia, Virginia — $300,000.
Maria Thompson, procurement analyst for the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, told attendees that "the board of commissioners reserves the right to waive technicalities and make an award in the best interest of Glynn County." She said she and the project manager will review paperwork for accuracy and completeness and cautioned that "the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee when the bid review process is complete." Thompson said a bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the county website as soon as it is available and encouraged interested parties to sign up for bid alerts.
Thompson said the recommended award will be presented to the county finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at the next scheduled monthly meeting; no award was made at the opening. The bid opening was conducted as a public, streamed event; attendees in person were asked to sign an attendance sheet that can be provided on request.
