The Business Development Board presented its 2024 annual report and a budget request for fiscal year 2025–26 at a Martin County meeting this week. The request was shown alongside the county’s Capital Improvement Plan, which officials described as a multi-year planning tool for capital projects and infrastructure.
The presentation outlined last year’s activity and tied the Business Development Board’s FY 2025–26 funding request to items listed in the county’s Capital Improvement Plan, commonly called the CIP. Shelby, a county staff member, gave a separate presentation on how the CIP is constructed and how departments submit CIP sheets.
County staff said each department submits its own CIP sheets for review; those sheets and related agenda materials were made available online, the meeting hosts said. The CIP covers planned capital projects and maintenance and is a planning input for the county budget process.
No formal vote on the Business Development Board’s funding request was recorded in the meeting transcript. The request was presented to the county for consideration in the upcoming budget cycle.
