Fiscal court defers decision on $10,000 contribution for Buddy Davis pool repairs

Court members said repairs have been ongoing and that additional small leaks have continued to appear; several magistrates said they wanted more information about the city’s plan and the long‑term prospects for the pool before approving county funds.
Magistrate Ellis moved — and Magistrate Bodner seconded — a motion to defer the decision so the court can schedule a more comprehensive joint discussion with city staff and parks and recreation about repair strategy and long‑term planning. The motion carried by voice vote. Several magistrates said they support the pool as an important community amenity but want clearer estimates of remaining leaks and the city’s plan for permanent solutions before spending county funds.
No county funds were transferred; the item will return to the court for more information at a later date.
