Road and Bridge staff told the court the intersection includes a roughly 90-degree turn where County Road 1250 dead-ends; there is already a westbound stop sign on Chola, but no sign on 1250. Staff said motorists had driven through the intersection, struck fences and left the right of way; the new sign will create a two-stop configuration at the intersection.
The court opened a public hearing and allowed two-minute comments; no members of the public spoke. After brief discussion the court moved, seconded and approved the installation by voice vote.
Road and Bridge will schedule and install the new stop sign per county traffic-control procedures.
