Midland County proclaims January 2025 Crime Stoppers Month

County Judge Terry Johnson on Tuesday read and the court acknowledged a proclamation designating January 2025 as Crime Stoppers Month in Midland County.
The proclamation, presented by a Crime Stoppers representative, said Crime Stoppers of Midland Inc. has helped law enforcement arrest 9,881 suspects, recover $2,784,229 in property, seize 6,278,764 in narcotics, and pay $583,286 in rewards since the program began in January 1984. The court paused for a ceremonial photograph after the proclamation and received board members Tracy Cottler and Ross Cottle.
The court moved and seconded a motion to acknowledge the proclamation; the motion was approved by voice vote.
The recognition does not create a county program or funding commitment; it is a formal commendation and public acknowledgement of Crime Stoppers of Midland’s work and longevity.
