Board approves contracts for scoreboard, summer meal boxes and school bus loop repairs
Summary
The board awarded three procurement items: a scoreboard contract for Halton High (RFP 2537) to Daktronics; summer meal box award (bid 2561) to Optimum Foods; and Elm Grove Elementary bus loop work (bid 2523) to M & M Builders (base and alternate) after bids were reviewed.
The board approved several solicitation awards during the April 17 meeting. Carrie (Kerry) Douglas, Chief Procurement Officer, summarized the outcomes of recent solicitations:
- RFP 2537, Halton High School football stadium scoreboard: a three-proposal review committee recommended Daktronics as the highest-scoring, responsive proposer; the board approved awarding the project to Daktronics with authority for the superintendent to execute the contract.
- Bid 2561, Child Nutrition Program summer meal boxes: three bids were received and the lowest responsive, responsible bidder was Optimum Foods; the board awarded the project to Optimum Foods. District staff confirmed summer meal boxes come in three-day and seven-day configurations and that the program uses pass-through rebate funding for meals.
- Bid 2523, Elm Grove Elementary bus loop: two bids were opened; M & M Builders submitted the lowest bid for the base contract and alternate one. Because the combined total fell under the designer’s estimate, staff recommended awarding both the base and the alternate to M & M Builders; the board approved the recommendation.
District staff said committees reviewed responsiveness and price and recommended awards. The board voted to approve each award as presented.
