Jeff Cholly, chief of police, told the Monroe City Council on April 22 that detectives arrested an individual in connection with a shots-fired call at a tavern on Lewis Street. Cholly said the arrest resolved the incident and credited detectives and the investigative team for the work that led to the arrest.
Cholly also highlighted that the department’s deputy chief graduated from the FBI National Academy; the meeting packet included a photo of the deputy chief receiving a diploma from the FBI director. Cholly thanked council members who attended the department’s awards banquet and noted community support for the department’s work.
Chief Cholly invited questions and otherwise had no other requests at the meeting.
