Monongalia County sheriff introduces seven new deputies; commission approves personnel list

Sheriff Forbes introduced seven newly hired deputy sheriffs at the Monongalia County Commission meeting on April 23 and the commission approved the personnel slate by motion and voice vote.
Forbes said the hires were historic in number for a single introduction and will bring the sheriff—s office up to its authorized staffing level. He listed the deputies as Gavin Hissom, Tavion Dilstone, Ethan Nepp, Kate Skovinski, Andrew Mounds, Hunter Brewer and Chris Ressler.
Forbes said Gavin Hissom and several others will begin May 1; Ethan Nepp and Chris Resler will begin May 16 because of military obligations. He told the commission the positions carry a one-year probationary period, that they are benefits positions, and that the monthly salary is $4,400.02.
A commissioner moved to approve the personnel list "as presented," the motion was seconded and commissioners answered, "Aye." No roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting audio.
