Students present 'Trojan TV' morning show from Athena Middle School

Students from Athena Middle School presented their student-run morning show, Trojan TV, describing the program’s development, production and daily features.
Eighth grader Jack Scottney said the idea was proposed in May 2024 and the first episode aired Sept. 5, 2024 using a laptop and two students. The program has since grown to more than 10 student contributors and now uses OBS software with a camera, microphone and green screen. Seventh grader Declan Morris created the show’s introduction and credits, staff said.
Students described the show’s content—daily announcements, a positive-quote or joke-of-the-day segment, Leader in Me lessons and reminders about after-school activities and supervision at sporting events—and listed spring sports and hygiene-drive donation details.
Principal Wallenhorst was credited with supporting the program after taking his role in February. Board members invited students to the podium for a photo and the board recognized their presentation.
