County receives notice of two small water-and-sewer grant applications; planning office says projects comply with county plan

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on April 22 entered into the meeting record two letters notifying the county of pending applications to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s small water-and-sewer program.
Newcastle Engineers, signed by Greg Del Principe, notified the county that Mahoning Township intends to apply for state funding to upgrade sanitary sewer pump stations. RAR Engineering, signed by Janine Malloy, notified the county that the Elkhorn Borough Sewer Authority intends to apply for small water-and-sewer grant funding for equipment upgrades at the borough’s wastewater treatment plant. The letters were entered into the record and the commissioners approved accepting them by roll call.
County planning staff provided a letter dated April 15 stating that both projects are consistent with the adopted Lawrence County comprehensive plan; the planning office’s consistency letter was noted in the meeting materials. Commissioners accepted the written communications without further discussion and recorded the documents in the official minutes.
