The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on April 22 approved a budget amendment to recognize $30,000 in unbudgeted revenue from a Drug Enforcement Administration task-force account and earmarked it for the district attorney's overtime expense.
The vote was part of a package of routine fiscal actions taken at the start of the meeting. Commissioners also approved Resolution 84, allocating $47,262 to the Agricultural Preservation Board’s general expense fund, and a set of smaller transfers moving contingency or contracted-service dollars into specific office line items.
The district attorney amendment, listed as budget amendment No. 83 in the agenda, was described at the meeting as federal task-force revenue (DEA TFO) to be recorded in the general revenue fund and assigned to the DA overtime line. Commissioners voted to approve the amendment by roll call. The board then approved Resolution 84, which the county said represented funds received on behalf of the Agricultural Preservation Board and would be deposited into that board’s general expense account.
Other approved transfers included: a $2,500 transfer from contingency to other contracted services for Human Resources; $2,500 from contingency to office minor equipment for the prothonotary; $2,500 from contingency to materials and supplies for Voter Services; a $20,000 transfer within District Judge Russo’s office from a major equipment line to a minor equipment line (the agenda initially listed “major” but the commissioners corrected the record to “minor”); and a $2,097 transfer in the Tax Claim office from contracted consulting to office minor. The board voted on these transfers together and approved them by roll call.
Meeting materials indicate the transfers were administrative adjustments to match expenditures and equipment needs to existing budgets; no additional programmatic changes were described during the discussion. The board set its next regular meeting for April 29 at 10 a.m. and noted there will be no meeting on May 6.
