Council confirms multiple appointments, fills board vacancies; ethics-board nominee approved 9–0 with 1 abstention

The Marshfield Common Council approved a package of appointments and board assignments at its April 22 meeting, filling vacancies on several local boards and commissions.
The council accepted the Judiciary & Licensing Committee’s recommendation to appoint Alana Fettig Goodwin to the ethics board. The recorded vote on that appointment was nine in favor and one abstention; the council chair and clerk administered the process and asked members to complete the necessary paperwork.
The council also approved the mayor’s appointments to various boards and commissions as presented and confirmed Cole Minsas to the communications committee to an unexpired term (the appointment requires a two-thirds vote under Marshfield Municipal Code §2.88). The council moved and approved the appointments.
Separately, the council suspended the rules to approve Deborah (Deb) Catona as an alternate to the board of review for a five-year term ending in 02/1930 (the council discussed the required seven-vote threshold for the suspension and confirmed the suspension carried). Council members also accepted Alderman Tompkins to remain on the housing committee to fill a council seat on that body.
The package of appointments passed by the votes recorded at the meeting; the council clerk will complete the paperwork and notify the appointees.
