The Logansport City Board of Public Works and Safety voted April 23 to approve a social-media services agreement intended to assess the city's current social media presence and recommend next steps.
Mayor Chris Martin described the vendor as local and said the contract "will allow us to be able to assess what we really truly need on the social media side." He told the board the firm (referred to in the meeting as BC Media and earlier as Ski Media) is from Kokomo and will evaluate platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
The mayor moved to approve the social-media services agreement; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call votes from Levi Jones and Chris Martin. No public comment was offered on the item.
City officials said the assessment is aimed at addressing misinformation circulating on social platforms and establishing a forward-looking marketing strategy for city government.
