Board grants tenure to Deputy Superintendent John O'Keefe

Bossert read a board certificate honoring O'Keefe’s contributions and called the recognition "no small accomplishment."
Board members offered words of praise during the meeting. One trustee said the district is in stronger financial shape because of O'Keefe's work; another praised his attention to detail and integrity. O'Keefe accepted the recognition and thanked the board.
The motion to accept the tenure recommendation (agenda item 9C) passed unanimously. Dr. Bossert said the board previously approved a change in O'Keefe's title from assistant superintendent to deputy superintendent to better reflect his responsibilities.
The board's action formalizes O'Keefe's employment status in the district and is separate from other personnel actions on the consent agenda that the board approved during the same meeting.
