Las Vegas civil service trustees certify eligible lists for six jobs, abolish DPS communications specialist list

The Board of Civil Service Trustees on April 23, 2025 in Las Vegas approved the minutes of its April 9 meeting, certified eligible candidate lists for six open positions and abolished the eligible list for a Department of Public Safety communications specialist, the board said during a short public meeting.

The actions were taken by voice vote with motions recorded as passed; the transcript does not include individual roll-call tallies. No members of the public spoke during the public-comment portions of the agenda.

Chair Clemens opened the meeting and confirmed a quorum. Member Panachello moved to approve the April 9, 2025 minutes by reference; the motion passed. Member Stamper moved to approve item 5, which certified eligible lists for the following open positions: court clerk, cultural coordinator, facilities project manager, heavy mechanic, motor sweeper operator and project engineer. That motion passed by voice vote.

On item 6 the board voted to abolish the eligible list for the Department of Public Safety communications specialist; the transcript records the motion as read and shows the item passed by voice vote, but does not name the member who moved for the abolition or record an individual vote tally. The agenda language noted that items may be taken out of order or combined and that backup material is available from the City Clerk's office.

The meeting included the routine call to order, roll call and a confirmation of compliance with the open meeting law. After citizens participation drew no speakers, the board adjourned.
