Board approves $4.84 million early‑lease package for La Porte High School renovation; construction to start in June

The La Porte ISD Board of Trustees approved an early construction package for the La Porte High School additions and renovations, authorizing staff to proceed with the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) No. 1 for site work, demolition and portable building installation.

Facilities staff presented GMP No. 1 as an early‑lease package that includes demolition, site preparation, temporary portable classroom placement and associated utility and fencing work. The GMP No. 1 cost submitted for approval was $4,838,415. Staff said the work would allow the district to vacate affected spaces, install temporary classroom capacity and complete initial infrastructure ahead of the larger renovation packages to follow.
