SANTAQUIN, Utah — At its April 22 meeting the Santaquin City Planning Commission approved minutes from the April 8, 2025 meeting and heard a staff announcement that Aspen, a city planner, will leave later this week to accept a long‑range planner position with the county.
Commissioner Tolman moved to approve the April 8 minutes; a commissioner seconded and the vote to approve was unanimous. The commission then heard staff announcements: staff said there is a possible preliminary plan for a commercial subdivision south of Maverick that could appear on the next meeting agenda if outstanding redlines are addressed; the project would create five lots.
Planning staff member Aspen announced that April 25 will be her last day with the city. Aspen said she is taking a long‑range planner position with the county and cited family needs and the proximity to family in Provo as reasons for the move. Commissioners offered well wishes.
No formal action was taken on the announced commercial preliminary plan at this meeting; staff said the item may appear on a future agenda if materials are completed in time.
