During public comment on April 22, resident Susan Clements gave council members a brief history of the North Ogden Historical Museum and asked the council to consider funding for exterior repairs.
Clements outlined the museum’s origins: volunteers organized in 2006 and the museum incorporated as a nonprofit in 2008; the museum was initially housed in space at the fire station and later moved into a donated house formerly owned by the McCormick family. She described artifact preservation work and said the museum continues to collect donations and maintain its collection. The museum’s operating agreement with the city, she said, provides that the city will maintain the exterior while the museum organization will maintain the interior; she requested the council consider allocating funds in the city’s budget to support exterior repairs and upkeep.
Council members acknowledged the comment; no staff action or appropriation was taken during the meeting. Staff will consider the request as part of the budget discussions on capital and maintenance funds.
