Huntersville approves two speed humps for Delwood Drive after community input and staff review

Staff and public preference leaned toward two speed humps; the engineering and public-safety departments recommended two or three humps but noted the community favored two. A motion initially proposed three humps was revised on the floor to option 2, and the board approved the revised motion unanimously.
Staff said speed-hump spacing left room for future additions if monitoring suggested more measures were needed. Commissioners thanked staff and community members for the engagement and noted a phased approach remains possible.
Commissioner Rivers recused herself earlier on a separate item because of a conflict of interest and was later returned to the meeting after the Delwood Drive vote.
