The House passed House Bill 2660, which extends temporary dealer-issued trip permits for purchasers who live outside Oregon from 10 days to 30 days for certain vehicles, including recreational vehicles, and increases the permit fee slightly, sponsors said.
Representative Evans, sponsor of the bill, told colleagues the bill emerged from the Joint Transportation Committee without controversy and aims to help out-of-state RV buyers spend more time and money in Oregon before titling in their home state. Evans characterized the bill as a jobs measure that gave dealers discretion to issue 30-day permits where previously a special 10-day "get out of town" permit was required for some RV purchases.
The clerk opened the voting system and declared House Bill 2660 passed after it received the constitutional majority.
