The City of St. Paul Park City Council accepted the resignation of the finance director, effective April 23, 2025, and approved two staff recommendations to manage the transition: a recruitment proposal from MGDT and an interim-services agreement with Abdo Financial Solutions. Those items were included on the consent agenda approved by the council after council members removed the police chief pay increase to new business.
At the start of the meeting staff listed consent items including acknowledgment of commission minutes (Parks & Rec and Public Safety), payment of bills for April 9–22, acceptance of the finance director’s resignation effective 04/23/2025, approval of a recruitment proposal from MGDT to find a new finance director, and approval of interim finance-manager services from Abdo Financial Solutions.
Council Member Spence moved to approve the consent agenda minus the police-pay item; the motion was seconded and the consent agenda passed with no opposition. The council noted that any item can be pulled from consent for separate discussion. The removal of item B sent the police-pay question to new business; all other consent items, including the finance transition actions, were approved 4-0.
Staff said the interim agreement and recruitment proposal are intended to maintain continuity in finance operations while a replacement is sought.
