Polk County commissioners approve multiple contracts, grants and procedural changes; table fire-service agreement

Polk County Commissioners Court approved a string of procurement, grant and policy items during its April 22 regular meeting in Livingston, the court said.

The court approved minutes and a series of consent items, accepted bid results and authorized a number of contracts and grant resolutions. Several items were discussed more fully before final action: the court approved an interlocal agreement for inmate housing with Beauregard Parish, Louisiana; approved a memorandum of agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for certified warrant‑service officers; and approved resolutions to seek federal funds for a Trinity River bridge and to apply for a state indigent‑defense improvement grant.

Why it matters: The package of approvals moves forward county infrastructure and public‑safety work, allocates federal and state grant efforts and authorizes vendor selections that affect daily county operations and budgets.
