The Morgan County Board of Commissioners approved a $75,000 annual economic development services agreement with the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) on April 21.
EDC representative Mike Dellinger told commissioners the organization’s largest investor is the county, followed by the town of Mooresville and the city of Martinsville; private businesses also contribute. Dellinger asked the board to renew the contract for the remaining quarters of the year; commissioners approved the request by voice vote.
One commissioner described county support for the EDC as “seed money” that helps attract jobs and investment. The motion to renew the contract was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Collier, and recorded as approved by voice vote.
Action: motion to approve the 2025 EDC service agreement carried (voice vote).
