City engineer Melinda confirmed the contractor is expected to complete the sewer work by June 1.
The council also voted to amend ordinance No. 8,639 — the 2025 annual street resurfacing authorization — to add additional streets to this year’s paving list. Council members identified the added streets as Integrity Drive, Ralvin Drive, West Broadway, McKinley, College Drive, Wayne Avenue, South of Downs and Laurelwood. Council discussion noted the resurfacing contract returned under budget, enabling the change order.
During the discussion council members asked whether the extra resurfacing money could be shifted to Jefferson Avenue. Melinda said the city will “reduce the scope of Jefferson to go from Horace-ish to Second Street” and that the city’s payment to the Ohio Department of Transportation, coupled with ODOT’s 80% share of the service course, should still cover that portion when bids are opened.
Under the board of control, Miss Sprague presented a purchase order (2025-00882) to Clark Mosquito Control Products for $21,008.40 for mosquito chemicals. The meeting record shows no objections to the financial report and payment of bills; council approved the reports by unanimous consent in the absence of objections.
