Board members discussed replacing the district’s aging sound systems in the gym and at the stadium and noted the recent audio upgrade in the auditorium.
A board member said the stadium system was “really in bad shape” and that the gym system was similarly old; the presenter (Sam, a district staff member) said the stadium system is “20 plus years old” and the gym “25 plus years old.” Sam told the board both replacements are on the district’s 10‑year plan and that he was awaiting quotes. He estimated roughly “25,000 each” for the gym and stadium systems and said the auditorium upgrade cost “right around… 20” (transcript number unclear).
Board members proposed seeking corporate or community sponsorships to help pay for equipment. One board member suggested asking the Keystone Foundation to partner and recommended the district consult David Lindsay, the district solicitor, about legal or solicitation requirements for fundraising and public recognition. The same board member suggested the district consider public solicitations (newspaper, social media) and thanked staff for engaging local contractors.
Sam said the district’s IT staff had already arranged sound audits in both locations and that he would coordinate quotes and sponsorship outreach with Frank and the IT team. Board members expressed interest in installing the stadium system before fall sports and asked staff to pursue quotes and potential sponsors over the summer.
No formal vote was taken; board direction was to return to the board when quotes and sponsorship arrangements are available.
