Nixa police say heavy snow did not stop response: 505 calls, 10 arrests

Lieutenant Saner of the Nixa Police Department said the department responded to 505 calls for service last week during a heavy snow event, making 10 arrests and conducting more than 100 traffic stops.
The department’s weekly summary, delivered by Lieutenant Saner, noted that officers continued patrols despite difficult conditions. “Hey, Nixa community. This is Lieutenant Saner with the Nixa Police Department, and this is your weekly wrap up. Last week, the officers were buried in snow, but we still responded to 5 0 5 calls for service,” Saner said.
The department recorded six motor vehicle collisions and three K9 deployments for K9 Jack, the lieutenant said. Saner gave a breakdown of arrests and reports: the department took 36 reports and made 10 arrests — one for driving while intoxicated, four for fugitives and five described as miscellaneous.
“We wanna give a special shout out to Brady's Canine Fund for donating a bulletproof vest to canine Jack special,” Saner said. He also thanked the Nixa utilities department and the Nixa street department for keeping roadways open during the snow, which Saner said helped officers continue responding to calls.
The department’s weekly wrap concluded with a note to the community that routine updates will continue. “Stick around and we'll see you next week,” Saner said.
