Tuscaloosa council adopts series of resolutions, contracts and funding amendments

The Tuscaloosa City Council adopted a range of resolutions and professional and minor public-works contracts during the meeting, approving vendor agreements and subrecipient funding amendments and authorizing financial drafts for right-of-way acquisitions.
Key approvals included a professional services contract with Lamar Media Corporation; disbursement from District 3 Improvement Funds; minor public-works contracts with Alabama Guardrail Incorporated, Alabama ProStripe, Browning Masonry Company Inc., and Budget Blinds of Tuscaloosa; and a professional services contract with Vision Security Technologies Inc. The council also authorized the chief financial officer to draw drafts for right-of-way acquisitions on the University Boulevard Improvements Project and approved a draft payable to LLL LLC related to the Firing Range Road access improvement.
The council adopted Amendment 2 to subrecipient funding contracts with the Salvation Army, Temporary Emergency Services Inc., and Turning Point. Council members also approved job class specifications for a UD principal planner position. Several ordinances amending Code of Tuscaloosa sections (exhibits A and B to Section 19-42, and amendments to sections 19-2-29 and 19-2-35) were introduced; one set of amendments was deferred to the next meeting for adoption.
All listed resolutions and contracts were adopted by council vote during the meeting unless noted as deferred. The clerk recorded the votes and the council moved to the next agenda items.
