Aspire Behavioral Health seeks county help after hospital authority ends office lease; served 220 local clients last fiscal year

Aspire Behavioral Health asked the Miller County Board of Commissioners for assistance after being notified it can no longer operate from a house behind the hospital, a location it has used since 2019.
Dana Glass, executive director of Aspire Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Services, told commissioners the agency “served over 200 people in the last fiscal year, 220 to be exact, and provided 5,594 services,” and said losing the current site would cause operational challenges and likely interrupt services. Glass said services include crisis stabilization, temporary observation, addiction‑disease support, high‑intensity supports for people with serious and persistent mental illness, case management, nursing and medication services.
Glass said building relocation is complex because multiple accrediting and licensing bodies must approve service locations in sequence; she estimated the sequential approval process commonly takes six to 12 months. The agency asked whether the county had any vacant ADA‑compliant space it could renovate and use temporarily. Daniel Slurin, chief operations officer, attended with Glass and offered technical help on code and ADA compliance for potential county properties.
Commissioner (unnamed) offered to tour county properties and arrange follow‑up; staff asked Aspire to email availability for an in‑person meeting the following week. No formal county financial commitment was made at the meeting.
