Staff described an upfront project cost of approximately $1,100,000 and said Stephens County would receive an estimated $340,000 cash rebate tied to investment tax credits, leaving a stated net cost of $791,107. Staff said the project is expected to offset utility costs immediately at the county jail and produce net revenue over the life of the panels. County staff thanked GRP Wegman and Hart EMC for their participation; representatives from GRP Wegman were present to answer questions.
The board voted to accept the proposal and authorized execution of documentation; staff will finalize the contract, schedule installation and report projected energy savings and payback estimates to the board.
