The Talbot County Council introduced an administrative resolution authorizing issuance and sale of general obligation bonds in a principal amount not to exceed $26,900,000 to finance planning, design, acquisition, renovation, construction and furnishing of improvements to Chapel District Elementary School.
Martha Sparks, Talbot County finance director, told the council the resolution is the next step toward taking the project to the bond market and aligns with the FY25 capital improvement budget. “This administrative resolution brings us closer to going out to the bond market for this Chapel Elementary renovation and addition project that was approved in the capital improvement budget last year,” Sparks said.
Council members introduced the resolution by show of hands and then recorded a roll‑call introduction; the resolution was introduced and will proceed through the county’s issuance process, including preparation of official statements and sale processes if authorized in a future vote.
