Board approves park contracts, event use agreements and one amendment; votes at a glance

- Fleet Feet 5K at Freedom Park (June 3): The board approved a use agreement for Fleet Feet to hold a free, promotional 5K at Freedom Park on June 3 from 7 to 9 p.m.; the group will pay the rental fee. The motion was moved by Mr. Burton and seconded by Mr. Dietrich; recorded aye votes included Mr. Berg, Mr. Deidrick and Mr. Burton. Outcome: approved.
- Kick It community event at Marquee Skatepark (June 14): The board approved a lease/use agreement allowing Kick It to hold a community outreach event at the Marquee Skatepark on June 14. Staff noted the group plans competitions, music and food trucks and that the group has held similar events before. The motion passed; recorded aye votes included Mr. Beechart, Mr. Mertz and Mr. Cross. Outcome: approved.
- Amphitheater use agreement amendment (National Guard 38): The board approved an amendment to a previously approved amphitheater use agreement (the transcript identified the user as the National Guard 38 and related event participants). Many approvals were routine and staff said they would schedule or coordinate logistics and insurance details with users. Where groups asked for modifications to standard language (for example, insurance or identification provisions), staff noted they had negotiated amendments back to the user and presented those changes to the board for approval.
