The Prattville Planning Commission recommended rezoning approximately 3.96 acres in the Glenbrook subdivision from R2 to R3 to allow Phase 10 development consistent with prior phases and to complete a stormwater and street connectivity plan.
Staff presented the master sketch plan history and noted that the majority of Glenbrook has been developed under R3 standards, with only a southern portion of Phase 6 remaining R2. The applicant and staff said R3 zoning for Phase 10 would produce lots comparable to Phase 9 (roughly 90–95 feet wide) and support side‑entry garages and larger homes rather than the narrower 75‑foot R2 lots with front‑entry garages.
Commissioners and staff discussed connectivity: approving Phase 10 completes the original Glenbrook sketch plan, adds the final creek crossing and extends Sydney Drive South to provide through connectivity. Staff noted the master sketch plan had revisions approved in prior years; the current request covers phases 7–10 and reflects approved lot layout changes.
After discussion the commission read a resolution recommending the R3 zoning; commissioners voted in favor by voice. The recommendation will move to the City Council for final action under the standard rezoning process.
