On March 20, 2025 the Prattville Planning Commission voted to recommend rezoning an approximately 6.24-acre parcel on Doster Road from FAR to M-2 (multifamily/residential) following a public hearing. The petitioner on the application was Blake Rice of BSI Incorporated.
Planning staff presented maps showing the site, which is adjacent to light industrial and identified on the future land-use map for multifamily residential. One member of the public, Laurie Davis of 1338 South Memorial Drive, asked for confirmation of the project location after staff acknowledged an earlier mailing had included an incorrect map in some notices. Staff confirmed the correct parcel location for the hearing.
With no further public opposition, a resolution recommending rezoning as requested was read and moved; the commission voted and the motion carried (chair: "Motion carries"). The commission's recommendation is advisory and would be transmitted to the City Council for final consideration if the petitioner pursues that step.
