District reports mobile classrooms, roof work and scoreboard plans; athletic director flags space and staffing limits

The administration said a vendor (identified in the meeting as a signage/video provider) could sell advertising and sponsorship packages to offset costs. The board noted an existing policy requires the board to approve advertising content and sponsorships before vendors place advertisements on school-owned scoreboards.
Athletics and capacity: Athletic staff (Ted) said fall sports dates are set by IHSA and noted next year high-school fall sports may start Aug. 12. He reported strong spring participation and growing interest in programs such as girls flag football, tennis and swimming. Ted cautioned that adding new sports or extracurriculars requires careful planning for available facility space, coaching staff and transportation; he said the district is "kind of at capacity" for usable space and that staffing — including coaches and bus drivers — is a limiting factor.
Funding and partnerships: Staff suggested booster clubs and community partners could sponsor advertisements to minimize district costs for a video board. The board will review any proposed advertising or sponsorship agreements in compliance with policy.
Ending: Work on mobiles and roofing will continue through the summer; staff will return with specific sponsorship agreements for any scoreboard advertising and will consider athletic program expansion only after addressing space and staffing needs.
