The mayor described the award as a collaborative regional effort involving TCEPI, Fostoria economic development partners and local banks; he said the grant amount was not exactly what the cities requested but was welcome nonetheless. He estimated site work could begin as early as summer, with houses visible later in the year.
No council action or vote on the grant acceptance was announced during the remarks; the mayor described the grant award, the donated property, and the financing and counseling partners who will assist future buyers.
