The Homewood Planning & Development Committee voted April 21 to set a public hearing for June 9 on a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance that would allow food-and-beverage drive-throughs in the Wildwood Center portion of the PMUD (Planned Mixed-Use) zoning district.
Staff explained the change responds to a gap created when the ordinance language was updated in 2024 and that the amendment would restrict drive-through food and beverage service to the Wildwood Center area only. The planning commission had recommended the change by a 9–0 vote.
Committee members discussed prior development agreements and noted that some development-level restrictions could remain in place even if the zoning text is changed. The Planning & Development Committee approved setting the public hearing and forwarded the ordinance language for consideration at council hearing.
