Council approves angled parking plan for Bayview Drive after public hearing

At a public hearing on April 21 the Jamestown Town Council approved changing on‑street parking on Bayview Drive to angled parking oriented with the flow of traffic.
The police chief explained the new angled stalls would be placed opposite the direction shown in the presentation image so vehicles would pull in with the traffic flow rather than crossing lanes to access spots. A council member said the change is “safer” because drivers will not need to cross traffic to enter spaces.
A councilor moved to approve the proposal and the motion received a second; the council voted unanimously in favor.
The council and the chief noted that signage banning boat trailers on the west side of Bayview Drive already exists in the town’s ordinance; the angled parking measure does not alter that restriction.
