Lewis County commissioners approve vacation of Lindley Road in Doty

Lewis County commissioners on April 22 approved an order to vacate an unmaintained right of way known as Lindley Road in Doty (Vacation 25-002) after staff recommended the road is not a public necessity.
Kimberly Edmond, Public Works, presented the staff report and said the county received a petition requesting vacation of the unmaintained Lindley Road right of way. Edmond reported that on March 12 the county engineer submitted a report deeming the right of way useless as part of the county road system and that the board on March 25 issued an order fixing the hearing date. Notices were posted and published as required by law, Edmond said. She asked that her written staff report be incorporated into the record.
The board opened the public hearing for testimony; staff reported there were no public speakers either online or in the gallery, and the hearing was closed. A motion to approve Vacation 25-002 was made, seconded and approved 3-0.
The written staff report and the county engineer’s earlier finding are part of the record, and the board’s order declares the Lindley Road right of way is not a public necessity and vacates it. Staff did not identify any further steps or appeals during the meeting.
