Director Stevens updated the committee on an investigation into delays at Naki Park and the remaining steps to complete the park.
Stevens said most remaining encumbered funds are tied to a contract with E.H. Perkins to fill holes after telephone poles are relocated. He said National Grid and contractor Ty and Bond opened tickets and moved many overhead wires, and that Comcast became involved because cable lines were attached to the same poles. Stevens said Verizon had not yet completed relocation of its lines; staff have opened a new ticket and followed up twice but had no further Verizon update at the meeting.
Stevens said crews were out that day moving wires and that once Verizon relocates its lines and the poles are cleared, E.H. Perkins’ contract can be executed to finish filling holes and complete Naki Park work.
Ending: The committee agreed to keep Naki Park on future agendas for updates until pole relocations and final site work are complete.
